O V E R V I E W
In the field of Science Education, research on the construction and development of the teaching identity is generating more and more interest as a consequence of the new paradigms of education and its direct impact on student learning. The construction of such identity goes beyond the cognitive aspects of learning and is particularly relevant within pre-service training since it offers a comprehensive construction to analyse learning and teacher development. Given its multidimensional nature, there is a consensus in the literature about the usefulness of its construction for the learning and teaching processes.
